Trevett Column: YMCA, yard sale and more

Mon, 03/29/2021 - 4:15pm

Things are definitely looking up here in the Trevett neighborhood. The bulbs are popping, the trees are budding and the vaccinations are getting into arms. The new bridge might even get done sometime soon.

We are so fortunate that our YMCA offered their field house as a vaccination site — the only Y in the country to do so. It is great to have such a well-run site five minutes from Trevett.

Those of you that have received Evelyn’s spring news email know that we are hoping to have our annual Barters Island Community Association yard sale in August. We need to raise some money to help those neighbors in need and to cover hall expenses which have a way of adding up even when the hall is not used. Since we were not able to have the sale last year, we have lost ground to make up. We do not have a firm date at this time but would like you to save your stuff. Just remember that we do not take clothing or oversized pieces of furniture/appliances. If you have any questions about the sale or if you would like to help before, during or after the sale, please contact Louise (350-4032). Thanks in advance for your contributions.

And for our many new neighbors — if you would like to receive an occasional email about happenings or reminders of potlucks (when we can do them again) please forward your contact information to judy@winterisland.com

More to come in the near future.
