Join Boothbay Region Land Trust, 9-11:30 a.m. at the Schoolhouse Pond Preserve, Cross Road, Trevett. BRLT has partnered with Mathias Fine Art to offer a tree identification walk and private viewing of tree art. Our day will start in the woods of Schoolhouse Pond Preserve. As we walk a one-mile loop past old stone walls and along a sphagnum bog, we will encounter a variety of the tree species found in Midcoast Maine. A naturalist will offer some interesting insights into the ecology of the forest as well as share some tips for identifying our local trees. After our tree hike, we will drive or take a short walk down the quiet road to Mathias Fine Art Gallery. We will be greeted with coffee, breakfast pastries, and a private viewing of the “Trees” show, featuring art works created by artists from Maine and from away and inspired by the tremendous variety of trees, their shape, textures, utility and most of all their beauty. Free. Registration required. FMI: Tracey Hall at firstname.lastname@example.org or 633-4818.FMI on exhibition: www.mathiasfineart.com.
