Dear Editor:

The strength of the schools in Boothbay is the dedication of professionals who give so much of themselves to ensure our student's success. Administrators, teachers, support staff and coaches, are essential to helping students reach their full potential

We recently lost a former member of our school community who epitomized love for the students he served. I noted with admiration the many heartfelt comments written about Mr. David Landry. He is appropriately being remembered as a superb teacher, a dedicated coach, and a compassionate mentor, to class after class of Boothbay Region High School students. Every alumnus who benefited from their association with Mr. Landry have memories of how he left a positive imprint on their lives. He gave credence to the adage “A teacher's job is for eternity.”

All of us in Boothbay schools honor Mr. Landry for his many years of service in our schools and a life well-lived.
