Summer of love at Congregational Church

Thu, 06/20/2019 - 8:00am

This Sunday, June 23, a sermon series on love will begin at the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor. Each week a different aspect or focus of divine love will be explored. The first sermon will focus on love of the stranger, as expressed again and again in Holy Scripture. One example among many is the instruction from the Book of Leviticus, “When the alien resides with you in your land, you shall not oppress the alien. The alien who resides with you shall be to you as the citizen among you; you shall love the alien as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.” Another is the lovely admonition in Hebrews 13:2, “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing, some have entertained angels without knowing it.”

Everyone is welcome. Weekly worship and summer Sunday school are at 10 a.m.
