Dear Editor:

To the brown baggers (state legislature and governor), under what authority do you think that you might imagine to have the power to mandate these regulations on bags? How far are we the people, the ultimate authority of all laws passed on the people, going to allow these run amuck legislatures and regulatory agencies to go? Government's authority ends with the consent of the governed. Make no mistake that if we allow these people the power to regulate bags then the next thing could be bringing your own containers to the store for milk or anything else that the stores sell. What possible difference can it make whether we the people buy a 5-cent bag or the store gives us a bag for our convenience. Is the state the one getting the revenue from the bag fee?

Forcing stores to comply and enforce this regulation simply extends law enforcement authority to the stores, turning all stores into quasi KGB agents. No different than the unlawful mask mandates we have just gone through.

Are we really a free people when the government can dictate every aspect of our lives and businesses? I urge everyone reading this to dust off and read the Declaration of Independence, The Constitution for the United States of America, and the original Constitution for Maine. Our freedom has been stolen, hijacked, hidden away, little by little over time. We must act now to save freedom to secure for our posterity, our God given rights to be free.

I urge each and every American who desires to be free to act get involved ask questions of our government. That that is created by the people (government) cannot possible be of greater authority.

We hire people to do things for us like hiring someone to mow our lawn. Would you allow them to dictate to you where you can plant a tree? Government is no different they are hired to run the day-to-day operations.
