Boothbay Region Special Olympians traveled to University of Maine at Orono June 11 for the Track and Field portion of the Maine Special Olympics Summer Games. Olympians earned 11 gold medals, 11 silvers, eight bronzes and four fourth place ribbons, four fifth places, three sixth places and one seventh place.

“The Boothbay region track team members were well practiced and returned hot, tired and champions,” said Coach Toby LeConte.

The event was limited to just one day due to North America Special Olympics and UMO COVID-19 restrictions.
