Southport library opening Oct. 17 to restrictive browsing

Mon, 09/28/2020 - 9:15am

The Southport Memorial Library is excited to announce that they will reopen for inside browsing on Saturday, Oct. 17. The library will be open for visitors by appointment on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please call the library at 633-2741 to book a time slot.  Visits will be limited to 30 minutes, and only five people will be allowed in at one time.

To ensure the safety of patrons and staff, the library has put new policies and procedures in place. Information about reopening policies is posted at www.southportlibrary.org and the library Facebook page. We will also post policies outside the library, at the Southport Store, and at the post office. Patrons are asked not to visit the library if they have been sick in the previous 14 days or if they currently have any symptoms of illness. The use of masks and hand sanitizers will be required.

We will continue the current curbside pickup option for those patrons who are not comfortable coming inside. As always, wireless internet can be accessed with a phone or other device on the library grounds.

Please be assured that the librarians are doing everything possible to keep patrons safe and have put sanitizing procedures in place to keep the library as clean as possible.  Anne and Jen look forward to seeing everyone in person.
