Shear Artistry Family Hair Salon in Boothbay Harbor has been named a recipient of the 2019 Best of Award with a five-star rating, presented by Masters and Powers Incorporated.

Awarded nationwide, only one in 70 (1.4%) 2019 award recipients qualified as 2019 winners. Annette Nager has owned Shear Artistry for 13 years. There has been a salon in this location for over a 100 years with Annette, with over 40 years experience, being only the fifth owner. Betsy Pitcher has been with her for six years; she brings almost 30 years of experience and offers on-site wedding services. Lucas Leighton, resident barber, has been with the salon three years and is the first #barberintheharbor in several decades.

The award honors companies and professionals that provide excellent customer service, as reported by their customers through no-cost, user review websites and Better Business Bureau ratings. The reviews are analyzed by a team of researchers who calculate a star rating system based on this data, which determines a business’ award eligibility.

To determine 2019 award recipients, Masters and Powers’ dedicated team of researchers spent more than 300 hours analyzing data from multiple websites that detailed customer’s experiences at organizations across the state.
