Senior College discussion: How the CIA informs foreign policy
This winter’s Noontime Series programs feature a trio of CSC members whose governmental careers total nearly a century of service. The third program in the series, “How the CIA Informs the President’s Foreign Policy Decisions: Dispelling Some Myths about the CIA and Washington, D.C.,” led by Walter Voskian, will be held at noon on Monday, March 9, at the Second Congregational Church in Newcastle.
In this program, Voskian will part the curtain on the critical role of the US’s premier intelligence organization, communicated in the written and spoken word largely through the most sensitive and tightly guarded daily publication in the journal world: The President’s Daily Brief.
Voskian had a 31-year career as a CIA analyst, editor and senior manager. He was a frequent contributor to The President’s Daily Brief. Walter also was a member of the Agency’s Senior Intelligence Service, authored two books on analytic tradecraft, and traveled widely overseas to consult with embassy and Agency offices and to brief foreign liaison services.
This is the final program in the CSC Winter Noontime Series. Programs are free to Coastal Senior College members; $5 apiece for non-members. Registration is required.
