Seahawks fly past Roadrunners

Thu, 02/10/2022 - 8:00am

Senior co-captain Jaelyn Crocker scored a career-high 32 points and the Boothbay Region Seahawks won easily at home, 60-32, over the Mt. Abram Roadrunners Wednesday, Feb. 9.

Mt. Abram (2-12) had no answer for stopping Crocker, who scored most of her points in the paint, after entry passes from her teammates. The Roadrunners had trouble scoring although they had several open shots.

Boothbay never trailed in getting its fifth win of the season (5-8). The Seahawks jumped out to a 20-11 lead after eight minutes, led by 11 at the half, and went into the fourth quarter leading 40-25.

Maddie Orchard and Laura Chapman pitched in with six points apiece while Magen Burge, Emilie Crocker and Meg Sledge each scored four points.

Ali Wilcox led Mt. Abram with eight points, followed by Bailea Hanes with seven. Charlotte Mitchell and Kharlie Turner each scored six.

Boothbay will host Wiscasset (0-10) tonight in the regular season finale at 6:30 p.m.
