Three Boothbay senior tennis players were celebrated May 20 for their contributions to the sport. Prior to the final girls’ home match versus Spruce Mountain, tennis coach Alex Arsenault honored their efforts during a traditional Senior Day ceremony. Cody Field is the lone senior boys team member and Isabel Harkins and Kylie Brown are the two departing  girls’ team players.

Field is the son of Jennifer and John Field. Cody plans on following in his father’s footsteps following graduation in becoming an apprentice jeweler. Harkins and Brown will attend college next fall. Brown is attending Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts where she will play field hockey and study mathematics and statistics. Her career ambition is working as an aerospace cryptographer. “I want to work for the government and want to help people. I’m good at math and thought this sounds like a really cool career,” she said.

Harkins is the daughter of Lauren Graham and Bar Clarke and Adam Harkins and Amy Hillstrom. She is headed to Evanston, Illinois to attend Northwestern University. Harkins will trade her racket for a computer keyboard. Harkins will study journalism with an eye toward bringing more visibility to civil rights reporting.
