Saving money
Dear Editor:
I recently decided to cut the Spectrum cable and get an antenna, as the only channels I watch, along with streaming through a Roku, are six and 10.
Got the antenna, through Amazon, for $20, and I'm getting around 20 channels, free.
I will be switching from Spectrum to Consolidated Communications for internet as soon as I can get hooked up — around two weeks. The cost will be around $35/month.
I called Spectrum to disconnect cable. After an hour of being on hold, then speaking with a rep, then a supervisor, I was told that because my account is “grandfathered,” my internet cost, without cable, will go from $35 to $75/month.
Anyone who is using Spectrum should consider cutting that cord, asap.
