Rotary Club of Boothbay Harbor has donated $1,310 to offset costs for dry-cleaning and altering dresses and tuxedos for Grand March. Boothbay Region High School Principal Tricia Campbell said the formal wear is provided for the seniors every year by community members and alumni. The extra help from Rotary Club will help make sure everyone has something to wear for the occasion, she said.

“It was such a wonderful and generous donation (for) a wonderful resource that helps to reduce the costs and makes the experience more accessible to all members of the senior class each year,” said Campbell. “Grand March is a truly special part of the Boothbay Region High School graduation experience and we cannot thank the Rotary enough for their very generous gift.”

Rotary Club of Boothbay Harbor President Jeff Long said his organization has shown support to BRHS and Boothbay Region Elementary School throughout the years with programs and events like the Student Aid Fund, Education Boothbay, teacher appreciation lunches and special events. Most recently, Rotary helped BRES with the costs of shipping activities supplies to Ukrainian children displaced by the ongoing conflict.

“The Rotary Club of Boothbay Harbor proudly supports our local schools and community traditions,” Long said. “By helping defray the cost of tuxes and dresses for the Grand March, Rotary helps make this special community tradition accessible to all.”
