The Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club will be “Circling the Wagons” on Thursday, July 2, on the Boothbay Railway Village lawn at 6 p.m. We will get together to celebrate president Rick Elder and this extraordinary Rotary year. We plan to circle our cars leaving a center stage for the official “Change Over” fun. Not to be missed will be our fabulous singing ensemble “The Rotations.” They sure have a lot of material for a song this year.
We hope this format will allow members who are comfortable participating from their car and members who want to tailgate and visit to safely attend. We will follow six-foot social distancing practices, wear masks if less than six feet apart, etc. Amazingly we are all used to this now. Also because of COVID-19 this will be a BYOB, BYO food, BYO tables and chairs, BYO everything event.
The Railway Village has been so generous to offer the use of their lawn and facilities. They would appreciate a car count. Please email Irene Fowle if you are planning to attend. Please let me know if you will be participating from your car or tailgating and visiting around. Rain date is July 9.
This will be the first “Circling the Wagon” Changeover party in this Rotary Club’s long history. It takes a lot of flexibility and creativeness during this challenging time. Luckily the Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club members are abundant with those traits. As a club we have accomplished so much, even this year. Come celebrate with us if you can, family and friends welcome too..
