Rev. M. Cristina Paglinauan to lead All Saints services Aug. 9, 16

    All Saints by-the-Sea is pleased to welcome back the Rev. Cristina Paglinauan to preside over the online services for the next two weeks. The virtual services may be accessed on the All Saints website, www.allsaintssouthport.org (click on Services and scroll down) and will consist of organ music recorded amid the beauty of the chapel setting, prayers, hymns, and a sermon by Rev. Paglinauan. The organist for Aug. 9 is Mr. Henry Lowe, music director emeritus of the Church of the Redeemer in Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. David Brensinger from Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church in Atlanta, Georgia will provide music for the Aug. 16 service. Worshipers of all faiths are invited to join the online service.

    Rev. Paglinauan is the associate rector for community engagement at the Church of the Redeemer in north Baltimore. Maryland. The church’s many outreach initiatives are overseen by Rev. Paglinauan including neighborhood schools, local nonprofits, and BUILD, Baltimoreans United in Leadership Development. Cristina is also chaplain of the Redeemer Parish Day School.

    Prior to graduating from General Theological Seminary in 2010 and becoming a priest, Cristina enjoyed a variety of work including teaching and mentoring underserved youth in Baltimore and Colorado, as well as ministering to individuals with Alzheimer’s, and diabetes prevention on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico. She also participated in service opportunities in Israel bringing Jewish, Christian and Muslim youth together. Her beloved family includes her husband, David, children Grace (19) and Ben (10) and their snow-white cat Olmstead.

    In addition to the virtual service, All Saints chapel will be open for private prayer and meditation on Sundays from 10 a.m. until noon, Tuesdays from 1 to 3 p.m., Thursdays from 10 a.m. until noon, Fridays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. for the month of August. Golf cart transportation will be available for the Sunday hours. Social distancing, special sanitation and the wearing of masks will be in effect during these times. The chapel is located on Southport Island about two miles south on Route 238 on All Saints Road to the left.
