Rev. Charles Carrick and Castlebay at Wilson Chapel Aug. 8

    The Rev. Charles Carrick will lead the Sunday, Aug. 8 service at Wilson Memorial Chapel on Ocean Point. The renowned Maine duo Castlebay will be part of our musical worship. Castlebay musically weaves together the heritage of New England with Celtic lands in their ballads. Alan Wingard will serve as organist.

    The service is at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome! Wilson Memorial Chapel is following Maine general guidelines. Individuals who have not been fully vaccinated should wear a mask. Given the size of the chapel, we cannot assure six-foot separation for any attendee.

    Rev. Carrick is a graduate of Drexel University (1984, BS Computer Science) and Yale Divinity School (1987, Master of Divinity). He is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, having served churches in Pennsylvania for over 14 years. He served as the executivedDirector of the Hazleton Enlarged Ministry, a cooperative ministry of 14 churches in the Greater Hazleton Area. In his last full-time appointment, Rev. Carrick served Conyngham, Pennsylvania, UMC for eight years.

    Rev. Carrick is in his 23rd year at Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School (Kingston, PA) serving as Chaplain. He teaches AP Computer Science, Algebra II Honors, and STEM elective courses including Introduction to Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Submersibles, and Flight. Bible, World Religions, Moral Philosophy, Geometry, and Post-Apocalyptic Literature are some of the other courses that Rev. Carrick has taught. Soccer, snowboarding, skiing, and kayaking are sports passions.

    Rev. Carrick and his wife, Jill Clay Carrick, have a home at Farnham Point. Jill serves as STEM Associate Director at Wyoming Seminary and teaches science and computer at the Lower School. The Carricks have a daughter, Grace, Wyoming Seminary Class of 2021, who will be attending the The University of Rhode Island this fall. Their son, Jordan, and his wife, Shani, live in San Diego, California. Jordan is an aeronautical engineer at General Atomics.
