Rev. Canon George Maxwell to lead All Saints services June 28, July 5 and 12

All Saints by-the-Sea is delighted to have the Rev. Canon George Maxwell, vicar of the Cathedral of St. Philips in Atlanta, Georgia, providing the sermons for our virtual worship services for the next three weeks. The services may be accessed on the All Saints website, www.allsaintssouthport.org and will consist of organ music recorded at the chapel, prayers, hymns, and the meditation by Rev. Maxwell. The organist is Mr. Jay Zoller from South Parish Congregational Church in Augusta, Maine. Worshipers of all faiths are invited to join the online service.

Rev. Maxwell earned his M.Div. from Emory University in 2004 and was inducted into the Martin Luther King Jr. International Board of Preachers at Morehouse College in 2011. In his current position at the Cathedral of St. Philips, Maxwell is responsible for all operations of the cathedral including staff, programs and ministries. He is involved in training ministries and consulting throughout the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta and is a member of the advisory board of the Georgia Justice Project. He is an adjunct faculty member of the Chandler School of Theology, Emory University, and a spiritual faculty member of CREDO, a wellness program for Episcopal clergy.

In addition to the Sunday services, Rev. Maxwell will lead a discussion on the weekly scriptures via Zoom from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday mornings. A link to the meetings may be requested via the chapel email, allsaintssouthportme@gmail.com

In addition to the virtual service, All Saints by-the-Sea chapel will be open for private prayer and meditation on Sundays from 10 a.m. until noon, Tuesdays from 1 to 3 p.m., Thursdays from 10 a.m. until noon, Fridays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. for the month of July. Social distancing, special sanitation and the wearing of masks will be in effect during these times. The chapel is located on Southport Island about two miles south on Route 238 on All Saints road to the left.
