Recycle at Nathan’s

Mon, 02/22/2021 - 3:00pm

    Dear Editor:

Partners for World Health (PWH) collects medical supplies and equipment from healthcare facilities, manufacturers, other organizations, and individuals.  Supplies and equipment are sorted, evaluated, repackaged,  for distribution to individuals, communities, and healthcare facilities in need both locally and internationally. Their work limits the impact on the environment by diverting discarded materials from landfills and provides needed health care resources to the developing world.

Plastic is a continuing problem because even though it is supposed to be recycled much of it ends up in incinerators or landfills. Nathan’s Pharmacy in Boothbay Harbor has agreed to collect used prescription bottles that will then taken to PWH in Portland, where they will be given a needed second life in  a developing country.

Do your small part by taking your used plastic prescription bottles to Nathan's.  Every small gesture to keep plastic out of the trash stream makes a difference.
