Quilt being raffled for Rebuilding Together

Tue, 04/30/2019 - 3:00pm
Marty Helman, vice president of the Walter Foundation by day, but found some spare time to create a beautiful handmade quilt that she chose to donate as a raffle item to benefit Rebuilding Together of Lincoln County.

As Marty started collecting the material she wanted to use for this quilt there was a clear theme:  houses and trees brought Maine to mind, and the fabrics used for the edging are representative of stone, stone walls, nature ... you can see why donating it to RT of Lincoln County seemed the very purpose of the quilt!

The details in the materials chosen, and the finished piece of art itself,  reflects RT’s purpose: to help folks stay safe, warm, and dry in their homes.

Please stop by Bath Savings Bank in Boothbay Harbor to see the quilt on display fora few more weeks. And remember to buy your raffle tickets while your’re there: 1 for $5 or 5 for $20. You can also purchase them from Sally Barter by giving her a call at 633-6063.

The quilt will be displayed in other participating business throughout the area until the drawing on Wednesday, June 26 - during Boothbay Harbor Windjammer Days (RT will be serving food in the Whale Park June 25 and 26).
