Project Graduation thanks and a planned celebration

    Dear Editor:

The Project Graduation Committee for this year’s senior class, the Boothbay Region High School class of 2020, want to thank our wonderful friends and neighbors for their generous support of our kids. Over the last few months, many of you contributed to our annual Project Graduation program, traditionally a time for our seniors to take a fun trip and spend one last time together as a class. Well, as you all know, this year’s class is not having the senior year they expected. The traditional end of school year events will need to be altered and that is also true of Project Graduation.

Instead of an early June trip, we are planning a local celebration later in the summer when the kids can gather safely. We will use the donated funds for that celebration along with gift bags, sweatshirts and other fun surprises. We are also donating some of the funds we collected to help for the banners and lawn signs the school is having made to honor this class.

It is very easy for our seniors to focus on what they are missing. We hope to provide them some positive things to look forward to and perhaps create some new traditions! And, all of this would not have been possible without your help.

Thank you again for your support. We are blessed to live in a very generous community that loves its kids. If you would like to reach out to us, you can do so at projectgraduationbrhs@gmail.com Cheers to the BRHS Class of 2020!
