Come see Wiscasset through the eyes of 14 Maine artists at the Plein Air Painters of Maine Artists' Reception, hosted by Historic New England, at Nickels-Sortwell House Barn on Thursday, July 27 from 4 to 6 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
On view and available for purchase are works by Michael Vermette, John Sawyer, Anthony Watkins, Diane Dubreil, Celia Ludwig, Jim Farnan, Deena Ball, Eric Glass, Cassie Sanos, Allison Donahue, Ken Harvey, Sarah Hopkins, Stephan Gianinni, Penny Markey and Joyce Smith. Take the opportunity to talk to the artists about their work and their different perspectives of the Wiscasset area, from the built environment of historic buildings like Nickels-Sortwell House, Castle Tucker, Bowman House, the Old Jail, Morris Farm, the Sunken Garden, the Ledges, to our iconic landscapes including the Sheepscot River, marshes, and gardens.
All of the paintings are for sale, and a percentage of sales goes to Historic New England for historic preservation work in Wiscasset.
