Plant sale a great success

Mon, 06/07/2021 - 3:30pm

    Dear Editor:

The Library Plant Sale and Silent Auction held last weekend couldn't have been more successful and we couldn't have done it without the  support of our local community.

A great big thank you goes to all the businesses that generously donated items to the online silent auction. A diversity of items including home and garden products, fun and interesting experiences, health and
wellness related items, art, and various adventures made our silent  auction one of the best.

A sincere thank you to all the gardeners who took the time to divide their beautiful plants, label them and bring them to the library for the plant sale. We had hundreds of plants, more than we have ever had. The generous efforts of these gardeners made the plant sale more successful than ever.

And without the volunteers the event would never have happened. Thank you to those who helped  set up, hauled plants to the sale and placed them on the lawn, priced plants, sold baked goods and coffee, to the cashiers, master gardeners that answered questions and helped people select the right plant for their garden, and those who cleaned up after the event.

Thank you to the Higgins family who again  provided lovely music to enhance the day.

And thank you to all who came and bought plants and bid on the silent auction items!

We couldn't have done it without each and every person who worked so hard to support the community jewel that is our library.
