Dear Editor:

My son fell on the town dock at Newagen. The fall broke his shoulder and he was left unable to work and his medical bills have risen into the tens of thousands of dollars.

After three weeks of Southport selectmen meetings, my son was told that an old law allows the town of Southport not to be liable for their negligence, that my son would not get compensation for his fall.

If the town of Southport is not responsible for its negligence, the town should at least post signs at town properties to pass at your own risk.
