Over 200 compete in Lobster Roll 5k

    The eighth annual Lobster Roll 5k race held Saturday, July 29, had runners from Maine and as far as Washington, Florida, California and Hawaii. There were 209 competitors and 10 teams overall. Bart Race Service kept timing. After the race results were complete, children participated in a non-competitive “Fun Run” which consisted of a quarter mile run for the older kids and, for both the older and younger kids, an obstacle course around the diamond of the baseball field.

    Jared Campbell of Franklin, Indiana placed first in the overall men’s category with a time of 17:41 and Matthew Greer of Columbus, Indiana placed second with a time of 18:15.

    Blake Dodge of Beaufort, North Carolina won in the overall female category with a time of 19:24 while Jayme Riessen of Franklin, Indiana placed second with a time of 19:33.

    Elizabeth Thibaudeau of Kula, Hawaii won the girls 14 and under category in 24:12; Abigail Pohl, the women’s 20 to 29 category, in 19:50. Meridith Arand, women’s 30 to 39, in 20:21. Felicia Bishop, women’s 40 to 49, in 20:05; Jane Collins of Westfield, New Jersey, women’s 50 to 59, in 24:03. Catharine Grad, women’s 60 to 69, in 30:41; and Lee Corbin of West Boothbay Harbor, women’s 70 and over, in 43:39.

    Lars Hogne won the boys 14 and under category in 19:57. Kristen Haynes of Little Silver, New Jersey won the girls 15 to 19 category in 22:08. Blake Erhard of Boothbay won the boys’ 15 to 19 category in 18:23. Bennett Scully of Edgecomb won men’s 20 to 29, in 18:19; Ryan Doupe of Newport News, Virginia, men’s 30 to 39, in 18:25; Jordan Speith, men’s 40 to 49 in 18:39; Charlie Pohl, men’s 50 to 59 in 21:00; John Keller of Lexington, Massachusetts, men’s 60 to 69, in 23:19; and Jatnes Tolles, men’s 70 and over, in 25:10.
