A pair of groundbreaking sonic explorers join voices again for a second annual New Year’s Day concert to awaken the shimmering potential of 2014. Anna Dembska and Andrea Goodman do so with spontaneous songs, improvisational journeys and vibrational transmissions, evoking the essences of astrological moments, plant spirits and alternate realities; merging ceremony, performance and sound healing.
Goodman, of Ruby Throated Spirit Sanctuary and Voice/Star Studio on Barters Island, offers sound-healing, astrology and tarot readings, ceremonies, retreats and workshops. Learn more about Goodman at www.rubythroatedspirit.com.
For 30 years, Dembska, of Camden, has taught voice, performance technique and musicianship. The soprano-composer is currently teaching a course, “Free Your Voice,” at the Yoga Barn in Camden. The course teaches students how to expand their vocal range and access emotions, awareness and their imagination through their voice.
The concert, and welcoming of the new year, a new time and a new vision, begins at 4 p.m. at the Yoga Barn. Suggested donation: $10. The Barn is located at 255 Molyneaux Road in Camden.
