This week’s column will be brief as I am approaching the deadline for submission but did want to remind Ocean Pointer’s of some important days approaching this Memorial Day weekend.

Saturday a “Clean Up The Point Day” is scheduled and we will meet at the Casino at 9:30 a.m. and on Sunday there will be a Town Hall Meeting beginning at 4 p.m., also at the Casino. Please plan to attend both events if possible.

I also want to remind people that the upcoming summer activities calendar is now posted on the website. We’ve got something for everyone’s interest so please come join in on the fun. Of course we can always use volunteers for events so if something in particular peaks your interest please let us know; we appreciate your help.

The website contains information regarding our Ocean Point 5K Road Race and Fun Run to be held on Saturday July 20. Our thanks to Stephanie Newell and Kelly Robbins for all of their effort in making this event possible, I know it’s a daunting task to organize an event such as this so I hope you will participate or consider a sponsorship or volunteer to help.

I’ve enjoyed catching up with Ocean Pointers these past few weeks as each weekend brings another family back to prepare for the summer season ahead. It was wonderful to see Kevin and Dani McGonegal and their children Ellie and Ryan last weekend as well as Donna and Dave Logan and Cheryl Demers. I’m sure I will see many others this weekend.

The Inn is ready to open this coming weekend with most of their crew returning for the season. Tony Krason promises it will be a busy one for them which is always nice to hear, we are very fortunate to have them so conveniently located.
