15 – Gardens Aglow – The holiday lights of the season light up for another season. Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is transformed into a magical winter wonderland through Jan. 3. Open Thursday- Sunday, 4-9 p.m. Closed Thanksgiving Day. Weekend shuttles run continuously from 3:45 to 9 p.m. from the Boothbay Harbor Town Office right to the doors of Gardens Aglow. 15 – Giant Pot Buoy Tree & Selfie Contest – Take a photo of yourself at the tree on Pier 1 (you can’t miss it), then take a pic of a receipt from a downtown business or restaurant you were at that week. Email both photos with your name and email to membership@boothbayharbor.com. The BH Region Chamber will enter your name into the weekly drawing for a $100 e-card and the final drawing Jan. 1 for a $250 e-card!
15 – Art in the Square – At Boothbay Region Art Foundation. Mini-masterpieces on the 12" x 12" canvases that are $125 each. Mixed media, oil, acrylic, photography, collage; scenics, abstracts, still life and more. Show runs into the New Year. Great gifts! 1 Townsend Ave., Boothbay Harbor.
19 - Building Spectacular Gingerbread Houses – 3 p.m. Free, but registration is required to ensure there are enough materials for all. Led by master gingerbread house builder and instructor Kevin Kiley. Learn to build a gingerbread house to stand the test of time, or at least stand up! Learn tricks of the trade. Perhaps be inspired to enter your own gingerbread structure in the Gingerbread Spectacular in December. All ages welcome - kids must be accompanied by an adult. 22 - Bed Races return!!! Bundle up, wear your pajamas, and bring your best-decorated bed to roll down the street. Each bed must have: 4 wheels, 4 runners, 1 rider, 1 each: sheet, blanket, and pillow
