Not falling for the hype

Mon, 03/23/2020 - 5:00pm

Dear Editor:

I'm a very cynical person with a low opinion of the intelligence of the average person. I guess I was right because as Hermann Goering said, tell a lie enough and they will believe it.

Everyone fell for the hype of how deadly this virus is. There is enough data to back up what President Trump tried to tell everyone, but the media, which is controlled by a group that wants to overthrow our government and replace it with socialism, told them he was evil (oh, how they follow the Nazi playbook). They created this panic in hopes of getting rid of Trump, and I must say, they did an excellent job. Not only are they blaming him for this pandemic, they created a panic among the masses. This panic will cost the U.S. economy trillions of dollars between lost productivity and government bailouts, and these numbers will come out in the fullest just before the election. Of course, it will be his fault.

Monthly death facts: 104,000 from car accidents; 10,000-11,000 from lung cancer due to smoking; 1,000-5,000 from flu; 1,000 from swine flu.

CDC estimates: swine flu 60.8 million cases, 274,304 hospitalizations, and 12,469 deaths in the U.S.; 80 percent occurred in people younger than 65.

The media propaganda told us 75% of exposed will get the coronavirus, of them 40% will get sick and 15% of those will die.

Let’s take the city of Wuhan alone, population 30,000,000 (everyone in that city was exposed) — that would mean 22,500,000 got the virus, 9,000,000 got sick and 1,350,000 died. The population of China is 1,408,526,449. If only 1/4 of China was exposed the numbers would be: 1,056,394,835 infected, 422,557,934 got sick, and 63,383,690 died. The latest (3/19/20) from China is 3,245 died.

If coronavirus was as bad as some other virus deaths, worldwide should be: swine flu 269,500; 1968 flu 2,310,000; 1918 flu 154,000,000. The current count for the first 3 1/2 months: 9,828 as of 3/19 x 4 for a yearly estimate of 39,340.
