Dear Editor:

It pains me to announce, for the first time in nine years, there was one reported OUI given in Boothbay Harbor this New Year’s Eve. However, there were no alcohol-related accidents or fatalities in Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor or Edgecomb.

I would like to thank all of the amazing sponsors that made No Excuses 2019 possible: Boat House Bistro, Brady’s China By The Sea, McSeagulls, Pier One Pizza, Robinson’s Wharf, Taka Mediterranean, The Footbridge Brewery, The Thistle Inn, The Watershed Tavern/Boothbay Craft Brewery and Valley Distributors (formerly Federal Distributors). The unmatched effort and participation of these local establishments provides a level of appreciation, respect and safety for their patrons and the community as a whole.

I would like to thank driver Erin Hallinan for his participation and commitment to keeping the community safe. It was beyond compare.
