News and Notes from The Community Center

Mon, 09/19/2022 - 2:45pm

We had a significant turnout of people who needed to fill out the forms necessary to receive their stimulus money from the state, however, we think there are more out there who might need this service. If you, or someone you know would like an appointment with the AARP tax advisor, please call the office to make arrangements.

On Thursday this week Holly Stover will be with us at 1 p.m. to fill us in on what is happening in Augusta. This is an opportunity to learn about your government in action and to let Holly know what you need from her. She can fill us in on recently passed legislation.

We are still searching for an administrative assistant to join the Community Center family. The successful candidate will earn $18 per hour and work 20 hours per week. This is a contract job. The administrator is the face of the Community Center—manages the People Helping People program, does correspondence and maintains a fundraising database. This would be a perfect job for a mother while the children are in school or a retired person to earn a little spending money. Please call 633-9876 to schedule an interview.

We are open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Come play with us!
