News and Notes from The Community Center

Tue, 08/24/2021 - 2:00pm

We continue to be open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Masks are required. If you do not have a mask, we will supply one. Our WiFi is available as are several computers and printers. Games, puzzles, and conversation are free.

If you have not yet bought your chance to win A Bucket O’ Lobsters, come by the Center and get it! We will be drawing on Friday, Sept. 3 for 10 lobsters fresh caught by our generous lobstering friend. The chances are $10 each or three for $20. We will also be selling chances at the Farmer's Market for the next several weeks. Look for us there.

Speaking of fresh vegetables — we always have a generous offering on Fridays. You never know what you will find at our door — today it is beautiful tomatoes of many varieties.

We are still collecting drink can tabs for the benefit of the Shriners Children’s Burn Unit in Boston. If you know of a charitable organization that needs donations, please get in touch with us as we will begin our Red Wagon Projects beginning in September. In the past the Red Wagon has helped the people and animals of the Boothbay peninsula and will continue to do so.

Fall is coming and we plan to expand our programs as the Winter season approaches. In order to do that, we still need volunteers. If you are interested, why not attend the Volunteers meeting on Tuesday afternoon- - -or call for more information.
