News and Notes from The Community Center

As summer approaches and vaccinations increase daily, the Board of Directors is working on a plan in anticipation of re-opening the Community Center. Our plans are to be there from 10 a.m until 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. We will be a social gathering place, once again. Our purpose is to provide a safe, healthy place for people to come together for verbal interaction and fellowship. At this time, we will not be providing food and beverages. According to CDC guidelines, masks will be required, we will sign you in, and we will ask that you use hand sanitizer upon entering our space. We would hope that you have been fully vaccinated.

In order to open the center, we need volunteers. If you have good listening skills, enjoy the company of others and can tell a funny story, we need you. We want both male and female volunteers. We will ask you to help with light housekeeping chores and opening and closing routines. Most of all, our volunteers like to be social and interact with those who come in.

During this past year of isolation, we have all learned how very important social contact is to good mental health. The Community Center opening will be a dose of sunshine and cheer for all who want to come. Please help us make this happen by volunteering some of your time. For more information, call 633-6290.
