If you are looking for a great way to say “Be My Valentine,” try the Cookie Walk on Friday, Feb. 14. We will have a vast array of cookies from which you can choose. Filling a gift box will cost you $8. Not only will you have a unique token of your love for that special person in your life but you will be helping the Community Center to stay open. Happy Valentine’s Day to all!

Feb.17 is President’s Day and we, along with the schools, will be closed.

Domestic Abuse can happen to anyone, men and women, and it is not an easy topic to discuss. Do you want to be supportive but don’t know what to say or do? Are you a friend, are you family or a coworker—you can learn how to offer support. Are you currently in a bad situation yourself? Are you a survivor? You can learn how to receive support as well and what is available.

Mary Hanley, community prevention educator from New Hope For Women, will host a free discussion for adults — men and women — who would like to learn about domestic and elder abuse on Wednesday, Feb. 19 from 6 to 9 p.m. Attend and learn so that we can stem the tide of this growing problem.
