News and Notes from The Community Center

Mon, 08/26/2019 - 8:00pm

Friday of this week we will be drawing the lucky winner of the Labor Day Lobster Feast. If you have not yet purchased your tickets, don’t miss this opportunity. The lobsters are fresh and will come from local lobster boats. There is nothing better than that! The drawing will take place on Aug. 30. Tickets are available at The Center and from our Lobster Ladies and other volunteers whom you will see around town. We are ever so grateful to the lobstermen who have so generously donated part of their catch to our benefit.

We will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2 for Labor Day, and will return to normal hours — Monday through Friday 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. — on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

The Red Wagon project for September is the Community Food Closet at the High School. We need ready-to-eat snacks and mini-meals. Items should not need refrigeration. Microwavable items are acceptable but should be one-meal size and not require refrigeration before preparation. Healthy drinks are also needed. Come help us fill the wagon!

Be sure to call 633-9876 if you have questions about our programs or if you need to borrow durable medical equipment or if you need a ride to the center. We are here for you.
