News and Notes from The Community Center

Tue, 05/21/2019 - 7:15pm

The big news for the week is that we will be closed for Memorial Day on Monday, May 27. We hope you will enjoy the long weekend and that the weather is warm and sunny.

Our next Van Trip is on May 30. We are going to Brunswick to the Bowdoin College Museum of Art. Three excellent exhibits are open and one may choose to see them all or concentrate on only several. The Nineteenth Century: American and European Art from the Museum’s Collections—Photographic Lives: Robert Freson, Irving Penn, and The Portrait—and Modernism For All: The Bauhaus at 100 are the exhibits. We plan to leave the Center at 10 a.m. and return by 4 p.m. We will have an afternoon meal at Montsweag Farm on the way home. This will be one of several museum outings this summer. Please plan to join us and don’t forget to call or come in to reserve your spot.

We still need shoes --- why not clean out your closet now that winter is over. We will be happy to take the slippers, shoes, or boots you no longer need. The big collection box is in the hall outside our door. Just drop them in.

Be sure to call 633-9876 if you have questions about our programs or if you need to borrow durable medical equipment or if you need a ride to the center. We are here for you.
