It has become a tradition at the Opera House in Boothbay Harbor to begin the new year with old favorites The Boneheads & Holy Mackerels, together on stage. On Saturday, Jan. 18, these Midcoast talents will take to the stage and promise a night of roots music, country, blues, folk and more as they kick-off the season.
Musicians will include Steve Jones, Scott Elliot, Bob Colwell, Dick Hollis, Mark Stover and Paul D’Allesio — among others — and the evening will be packed with music beginning at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Advance discounted tickets are $10 and currently on sale at the box office at 86 Townsend Avenue. The box office can also be reached at 633-5159. Regular tickets are $15 and available online at boothbayoperahouse.com and at the door.
The winter monthly Open Mic series begins on Friday, Jan. 10 in the historic upstairs bar at the Opera House. Musicians, songwriters, poets, story-tellers, comedians and others who want to share their talent with the audience are encouraged to arrive beginning at 6:30 p.m. to sign up. Performance slots are 10 minutes and the mic will go live at 7 pm. No tickets are needed for Open Mic. Come cheer on your neighbors and friends and be prepared to be surprised at the unknown talents that emerge! The Friends of the Opera House will have chili and dessert available and the Opera bar will be serving drinks.
Patrons are reminded to please not bring food or beverages into the Opera House.
