The Waldo Theatre is hosting the Theatre at Monmouth’s touring production of William Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m.
Theatre at Monmouth’s Shakespeare in Maine Communities program brings professional theatre productions around the state, with a small group of actors performing the bard’s plays in fast-paced 90-minute shows.Tender, comic, moving, and shocking, ‘Much Ado’ reveals the worst and best in human nature, the need to find space to breathe after the long trauma of war, and the ability to forgive and find common ground.
This highly-celebrated, romantic and razor-witted comedy gives us the battle of the sexes as a delicious war of words, striking hilarious chords and revealing timeless truths about love, change, and acceptance.
“Theatre at Monmouth’s Producing Artistic Director Dawn McAndrews and I have been talking about bringing a touring show to The Waldo since just before the start of the pandemic,” said Waldo Executive Director Kate Fletcher, ”I applaud Monmouth’s effortsto bring live theatre back to our community and can’t wait to welcome them to The Waldo this month.”

The Waldo Theater, at 916 Main St., Waldoboro, requires masks and proof of COVID-19 vaccination for audiences,volunteers, and staff at the theatre for live performance events.
