Mountain Valley shuts out Boothbay

The Mountain Valley Falcons showed why they are one of the top teams in Class C field hockey as they shut out the visiting Boothbay Region Seahawks, 7-0, on Monday, Oct. 4 in Rumford.

The win improved the Falcons’ record to 9-1-1 while Boothbay dropped to 2-7 with the loss.

Scoring for Mountain Valley were Autumn Freeman with three goals (and two assists), Mallorie Bourret, Taylor Duguay, Alana Young and Abby Jones.

Boothbay goalie Jaelyn Crocker was kept busy all game, making 28 saves on 42 shots by the Falcons.

Freeman scored a hat trick for the Falcons (9-1-1) to lead her team in an MVC win over the Seahawks (2-7) in Rumford. Boothbay had nine shots on goal.

The Seahawks will travel to Winthrop on Wednesday and host Oak Hill on Friday.
