Monthly Thursday morning Labyrinth Walks at Edgecomb Community Church

Mon, 04/25/2022 - 8:00am

Beginning Thursday, May 12 at 11 a.m., Edgecomb Community Church, UCC, will be holding the first of monthly labyrinth walks at The Labyrinth in the Field followed by a “bring your own lunch” sharing time at noon. The spiritual practice of walking a labyrinth is a unique experience for everyone and is an opportunity to calm the mind and enjoy peace. After walking the labyrinth, we’ll have time for reflection and to share our experience with one another.

Walking the labyrinth can aid in mediation, prayer and in the listening of the wisdom of our hearts. Walking the labyrinth also allows us to slow down and become aware of the beauty of nature that surrounds us such as the blueness of the sky, the fragrance of the earth and the joyful sounds of the birds’ songs from nearby trees.

So come and join us for this time of exploration and sharing, as together we experience the spiritual practice of walking the labyrinth. You are invited to bring your lunch and we’ll have coffee/tea, lemonade and cookies available to share.

The Labyrinth in the Field is created from area stones and is located on the grounds of Edgecomb Community Church, 15 Cross Point Road, Edgecomb. It is a medieval 7-circuit Chartres style designed after the thirteenth-century labyrinth at the Chartres Cathedral in France.

For further information please email the church at edgecomb.church@gmail.com or call the office at 882.4060 and leave a message. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

The event is free to all. Donations are gratefully accepted for the upkeep of the labyrinth. The Labyrinth in the Field is open dawn to dusk, seven days a week year-round - but snow is not removed during winter months.
