MidCoast Modern Quilt Group to hold monthly meeting
The monthly meeting of the MidCoast Modern Quilt Group will be held Saturday, Nov. 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Alewives Fabrics located at 10 Main Street Nobleboro (Route 215, turn left two blocks beyond the Damariscotta Mills Alewives Fish Ladder). This month we will be making the “One Hour Basket” by KelbySews, doing partner assignment for a holiday mug rug swap, and starting our holiday food drive. Copies of the free pattern will be provided. Please bring the following supplies: ½ yard exterior fabric, fat quarter coordinating lining fabric, ½ yard fusible fleece interfacing, thread, sewing machine and notions (scissors, ruler, rotary cutter). Irons are provided. If you wish to donate to the holiday food drive, please bring non-perishable food items. We will be collecting items and donating to a local food pantry after our December meeting.
The meeting is open to everyone interested in quilting, with an emphasis on the modern aesthetic. MidCoast Modern Quilt Group welcomes all quilters regardless of skill level.
Alewives Fabrics will again provide space for the meeting in its classroom on the lower level of their historic barn. Parking is available at the lower level and on the street. Attendees lacking inspiration or materials will find plenty of ideas upstairs in the shop.
Reservations are not required. There is a meeting fee of $5 for all members and guests. For further information, contact Morgan Decker at midcoastmodern@gmail.com.
