A memorial service and interment of cremains of Marjorie ( Midge) Wood Brittingham will take place at Christ Episcopal Church, Oberlin, Ohio on Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. Midge died at her home in Oberlin on New Year’s Eve, 2019 at the age of 81. Because the pandemic closed many churches, her service has been postponed to All Saints Day, 2021.

She was the director of Alumni Relations of Oberlin College for many years, an active member of Christ Church, a summer member of St Columba’s, Boothbay Harbor, and a long term social and political activist. She was a summer resident of Bayville for many years.

Survivors include her husband Smith Rufus Brittingham III; her sons Smith R. Brittingham, IV (Brenda) William A. Brittingham (Lyn); four grandchildren and one great-grandchild and her brother William J. Wood (Susan) of Trevett.
