Lose It with the Y round four starts Jan. 2

Fri, 12/21/2018 - 8:15am

Round 4 of Lose it with the Y will begin Jan. 2 with orientation at 5 p.m. at Central Lincoln County (CLC) YMCA. Participants in the program will set healthy lifestyle goals and work to achieve them under the guidance of a personal trainer. To meet these goals, each team will meet with their personal trainer twice a week for innovative and challenging workouts that will accommodate their level of fitness. Experienced coaches will offer a range of fun and physical challenges like SYNRGY functional training interval classes, TRX strength training, fusion classes, track workouts, and indoor cycling to name a few.

Round three kicked off in October with six competing teams who have been enjoying the different fitness opportunities the CLC YMCA has to offer. Workout favorites have included SYNRGY, TRX, Barbells, track and scavenger hunt workouts, trail walks and cardio tennis. The winning group of Round three succeeded with a group weight loss of 41 pounds.

Working as a team helps with motivation and accountability and builds a healthy, supportive community that helps create lasting change. Participants build skills and useful tools that will help them lose weight and create healthy lifestyle habits. Participants can form their own teams or be matched with a team at orientation. Workouts are scheduled based on team preference. For more weight loss help, participants can add the CLC YMCA nutrition program Y Weight Loss with registered dietitian Joan Atkinson for a reduced fee of $25, and before and after Body Fat Measurements for $10.
