Local businesses sponsor evening social to 'Keep the Light Burning'
The Burnt Island Lighthouse has been a symbol of Boothbay Harbor for nearly 200 years, welcoming home fishermen and guiding mariners safely into our harbor. Topside Inn owners Mark Osborn and Buzz Makarewicz recognize that the lighthouse is not only a great place for their guests to visit but its importance in preserving the history of our region. To lend a hand, they are teaming up with others to raise funds for its restoration by hosting an evening social on Thursday, June 22 from 4-6 p.m.
The Boothbay Craft Brewery, Mine Oyster and Topside will provide food and beverages, and other businesses will donate their products, gift certificates, and services as prizes. So, sign up today and enjoy 10 Lewis Ale (brewed to promote Burnt Island), wine, eat a few oysters and have a great time -- for a minimum donation of $50.
Make your reservation by calling the Topside Inn at 207-633-5404. Join in on the fun and support a great cause.
