Lisbon holds down Boothbay

Thu, 09/23/2021 - 7:45am

With just 7:25 to play, the Lisbon Greyhounds broke the scoreless tie with a goal by Haley Tuplin and went on to defeat the host Boothbay Region Seahawks, 2-0, at Perkins Field Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 22. A second goal by Tuplin with 29 seconds to play provided the final score.

Boothbay (1-5) again played good defense, allowing only 12 shots on goal, but had trouble generating any offense as the Greyhounds (4-2-1) protected the scoring arch very well. Seahawk goalie Jaelyn Crocker made 10 saves.

The Seahawks are scheduled to travel to Oak Hill on Saturday, Sept. 25 for a 10 a.m. game. Boothbay’s next home game is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 27 at 3:30 p.m. against Telstar.
