Lisbon boys defeat Boothbay 59-41

The Lisbon boys’ basketball team toppled Boothbay, 59-41, in a Dec. 29 Mountain Valley Conference game at Porter Memorial Gymnasium. Levi Tibbetts led all scorers with 23 points in propelling the Greyhounds to their fourth win in five games. 

Boothbay struggled early in the contest trailing 20-9 midway into the second quarter before an 8-0 run trimmed Lisbon’s lead to three points. The Greyhounds regained the momentum with a 5-2 run ending the first half and continued their strong play throughout the second half in securing the victory. 

Boothbay is now 1-2 in conference play. The Seahawks’ leading scorers were Kayden Ames and Gryffin Kristan with 13 each. Other scorers were Luke Morley and Connor Wenners each with four, Ryan Amaral had three, and Ashton McLellan and Lucas Hardwick each scored two.

Boothbay’s next game is Tuesday, Jan. 4 as the Seahawks host Hall-Dale.
