LincolnHealth reported three weeks straight of 0 positive COVID-19 tests July 6. The streak began after one positive case was recorded June 14 and after three consecutive weeks of record low percent-positive cases from May to June. The week of May 31 had four positive cases out of 288 or 1.39% positive; June 7, three out of 376, 0.8%; and June 14, one out of 255, 0.39%. The weeks of June 21 and 28 had 238 and 231 tests, respectively.

LincolnHealth’s John Martins said July 5 was the Watson Health Center’s last day hosting the vaccination clinic. “(Now), if people need to be vaccinated, they can contact their primary care provider. We still have the ability to respond to someone who walks-in, but the process will work best for the patient and our team if they schedule an appointment.”

Martins said LincolnHealth is continuing to pursue pop-up clinics; one was set up June 29 on the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library lawn during Windjammer Days festivities. Though staff had both Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer vaccines on hand, there were no new walk-ins, Martins said. “I suspect the heat had an impact on the turnout … We did, however, deliver seven second-dose vaccines to people from Boothbay who would have had to travel to Damariscotta for a second dose. They were thrilled to be able to stay closer to home.”

During the week of June 21, there were 83 doses, including 28 first doses, at Watson Health Center; 24 doses were walk-ins.

Martins also said volunteers are steadily “coming back into the fold.”

“As long as they are fully vaccinated, we’re happy to have them back on board.”
