Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 244 calls for service between Jan. 15 and Jan. 22. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 1,178 calls for service.
On Jan. 19, Reserve Deputy Dwight Fowles was dispatched to a theft complaint in the Edgecomb area. The complainant stated the sometime since November 2018, someone(s) had stolen four fly fishing rods (value approximately $800) and some diabetic medication from her residence. Further investigation if leads develop.
On Jan. 19, Reserve Deputy Dwight Fowles was dispatched to a report of a theft of a green 17’ Old Town canoe (value: approximately $300) from a property in the Boothbay area. The complainant stated that she last saw the canoe approximately three weeks ago. Further investigation if leads develop.
Reece E. Demmons, 26, of Bristol was issued a summons Jan. 18 for Operating Under the Influence, on Upper Round Pond Road, Bristol, by Sgt. Aaron Beck.
Ashley Richardson, 33, of Albany, New York was arrested Jan. 19 for Domestic Violence Assault, on Bristol Road, Bristol, by Deputy Alonzo Connor.
Nathaniel A. Grasser, 24, of Dresden was arrested Jan. 22 on a Lincoln County District Court warrant for Unpaid Fines, on Jenny Lane, Dresden, by Deputy Caleb Poirier.
On Jan. 15, an accident occurred on Middle Road in Dresden involving Edward J. Stewart, 23, of Dresden and Daniel R. Stewart, 57, of Dresden. Mr. E. Stewart was operating his 2005 Chevrolet down a steep incline (private driveway) and due to the driveway being ice covered and not sanded, his vehicle lost traction and slid into Mr. D. Stewart’s 2007 GMC 1500, which was parked in the driveway. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 15, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Ronald A. Gonyou, 45, of Wiscasset. Mr. Gonyou was operating his 1990 Ford truck southbound when he was forced into the guardrail by an unknown vehicle turning onto Route 1 from the Boothbay Road. Gonyou’s vehicle sustained disabling damage to the passenger side and drive train. Deputy Chase Bosse was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 17, an accident occurred on Mills Road in Newcastle involving Christy E. Toman, 40, of Bristol. Ms. Toman was operating her 2011 BMW 3-Series northbound when a deer entered the roadway and struck the driver’s side of her vehicle. Sgt. Aaron Beck was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 18, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Darlene J. McLain, 58, of Damariscotta. Ms. McLain was operating her 2009 Dodge Dakota southbound when she lost control of her vehicle on the snowy road surface. As a result, her vehicle crossed the northbound lane and left the roadway, where her vehicle then struck a utility pole, rock wall and a tree. Lt. Brendan Kane was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 18, an accident occurred on Biscay Road in Bremen involving Aidan M. Stapp, 17, of Bremen. Mr. Stapp was operating his 2001 Subaru Legacy southbound when his vehicle hit a patch of ice and went off the roadway on the right side, where his vehicle came to final rest in a ditch. Deputy Alonzo Connor was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 18, an accident occurred on Upper Round Pond Road in Bristol involving Reece E. Demmons, 26, of Bristol. Mr. Demmons was operating his 2001 Dodge 1500 eastbound, while hauling an empty, open utility trailer (which did not sustain damage). Near box #76, his vehicle left the roadway on the right, struck a tree and then a stonewall. Sgt. Aaron Beck was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 19, an accident occurred on West Alna Road in Alna involving Samuel Bartlett, 60, of Whitefield. Mr. Bartlett was operating his 2008 Ford Taurus northbound when a deer ran into the road, striking his vehicle on the passenger side and causing damage to the passenger side fender and door. Reserve Deputy Dwight Fowles was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 22, an accident occurred on Bath Road in Wiscasset involving Jeffrey P. Weeks, 61, of Warren. Mr. Weeks pulled his 2011 cement truck/trailer in the Wiscasset Marketplace parking lot where he found his brakes had caught fire and which resulted in a hole in the cement tank. Weeks was able to detach the trailer and was not injured. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
