Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Three arrests

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a total of 498 calls between July 10 and July 17. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 8,846 calls for service.

On July 12, Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was dispatched to a report of a theft of a 9½ foot dinghy along with a Yamaha 8 hp outboard motor (value: approximately $12,000) from a mooring at Broad Cove Marina, in the town of Bremen.  The boat was last seen prior to July 4, when it was discovered missing. Further investigation as leads develop.

On July 14, Deputy David Bellows was dispatched to a report of a theft of a painting of a nautical chart (value: approximately $150.00) from a boathouse in the Boothbay area. Further investigation if leads develop.

Arrests

Jeffrey P. Luce, 40, of Whitefield was arrested July 11 on two Lincoln County District Court warrants for Unpaid Fines, on Mills Road, Whitefield, by Sgt. Alan Shea.

Zakkery R. Garfield, 26, of Gardiner was arrested July 14 on a warrant out of Augusta District Court for Failure to Appear, on Bunker Hill Road, Jefferson, by Deputy Chase Bosse.

Christine E. Abel, 42, of Boynton Beach, Florida was arrested July 16 for Operating under the Influence and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, on Boothbay Road, Edgecomb, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.

Accidents

On July 10, an accident occurred on Route 197 in Dresden involving Kiely P. Foss, 17, of Dresden. Ms. Foss was operating her 2014 Chevrolet Cruze eastbound when she struck a deer crossing the roadway traveling north to south. Deputy Chase Bosse was the investigating officer.

On July 11, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Sarah A. Rose, 47, of Lebanon, Connecticut and Bonnie Hollender, 70, of St. Catharine’s, Ontario, Canada.  Ms. Rose was operating her 2006 Subaru Legacy northbound and Ms. Hollender was operating her 2007 Hyundai behind Rose’s vehicle, when Rose slowed and turned into a driveway. As a result, Hollender struck the side of Rose’s vehicle. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.

On July 13, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Benjamin W. Southwood, 31, of London, United Kingdom. Mr. Southwood was operating his 2017 Toyota southbound when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. Sgt. Aaron Beck was the investigating officer.

On July 14, an accident occurred on State Route 129 in South Bristol involving Tina M. Roberts, 53, of South Thomaston. Ms. Roberts was operating her 2016 Nissan Murano southbound and as she rounded a corner, a dog ran out of Kelsey Drive and into the road. Ms. Roberts struck the dog with the front passenger side of the vehicle causing damage. Reserve Deputy Dwight Fowles was the investigating officer.

On July 16, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Dresden involving Rich E. Gustin, 47, of Pittston. Mr. Gustin was operating his 2017 Victory motorcycle northbound when a possum ran out in front of him. As a result, he was unable to avoid striking the animal, causing the motorcycle to crash. Deputy Ryan Chubbuck was the investigating officer.

On July 16, an accident occurred on State Route 32 in Bristol involving Ronald Pomeroy, 50, of Orrington. Mr. Pomeroy was operating his 2012 Toyota Tacoma westbound when a deer ran in front of him and was struck. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
