Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Six accidents

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 245 calls for service between April 20 and May 7. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 5,767 calls for service.

Arrest

Kelsey A. Walker, 23, of Bristol was arrested May 5 for Domestic Violence Assault, on Split Rock Road, Bristol, by Deputy First Class Brian Collamore.

Accidents

On May 3, an accident occurred on Waldoboro Road in Jefferson involving Matthew A. Dodge, 37, of Jefferson. Mr. Dodge had parked his 2006 GMC 1500 truck at the boat launch, unloading a boat, when he stated that while in the bed of the truck unloading the boat, the truck slipped out of park and rolled into the lake, where it was submerged completely. Deputy David Bellows was the investigating officer.

On May 3, an accident occurred on Waldoboro Road in Bremen involving Nicki E. Winchenbach, 35, of Nobleboro. Mr. Winchenbach was operating his 2010 Toyota Corolla northbound and started to go around a sharp corner, when his vehicle started to slide and as a result, it went off the roadway and hit a tree. Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.

On May 4, an accident occurred on State Route 129 in South Bristol involving Steven L. McDonald, 37, of Pittston. Mr. McDonald was operating his 2002 Toyota Tundra southbound when he swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway. As a result, his vehicle left the roadway on the right side. Mr. McDonald then over corrected and re-entered the roadway, when he then crossed the center line and exited the road on the left side, where his vehicle rolled over and came to final rest in a ditch, on the left side of the road. Deputy Chase Bosse was the investigating officer.

On May 4, an accident occurred on Rockland Road in Jefferson involving Todd M. McKay Sr., 44, of Chelsea and Kenneth M. Richard, 23, of Strafford, New Hampshire. Mr. McKay was operating his 2008 Chevrolet Upland westbound when he tried to place a wristband on his hand. As a result, he drifted into the eastbound lane and struck Mr. Richard’s 2015 Honda CRV, who was passing by in the eastbound lane. Sgt. Mark Bridgham was the investigating officer.

On May 5, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Ashley M. MaClellan, 37, of Boothbay Harbor. Ms. MaClellan was operating her 2001 Honda Accord southbound when she experienced an issue with the steering, which pulled her off the roadway on the right side, where she then struck a utility pole. Detective Scott Hayden was the investigating officer.

On May 5, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Christian A. Mancia, 47, of Revere, Massachusetts. Mr. Mancia was operating his 2003 Toyota Camry southbound when a deer entered the roadway from the northbound ditch and was struck. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
