Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Seven arrests

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 443 calls for service between Dec. 18 and Dec. 27. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 16,509 calls for service.

On Dec. 24, Deputy Alonzo Connor was dispatched to a report of Criminal Mischief to a mailbox (approximate value: $50) in the Bremen area. Further investigation if leads develop.

Summons

Aaron W. Ashton, 37, of Alna was issued a summons Dec, 22 for Assault, on Cross Road, Alna, by Reserve Deputy Dwight Fowles.

Arrests

Aaron McKeller, 29, of Whitefield was arrested Dec. 19 for Domestic Violence Assault, on Clover Lane, Whitefield, by Detective Scott Hayden.

Russell E. Trinka, 32, of Bath was arrested Dec. 21 on a Brunswick Police Department warrant for Theft, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Lt. Brendan Kane.

Brandon T. Cookson, 29, of Boothbay was arrested Dec. 21 on a Lincoln County District Court warrant for Failure to Appear on Charges of Violating Condition of Release and Refusing to Submit to Arrest, on Kimballtown Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Chase Bosse, who was assisted by Detective Jared Mitkus.

Arthur H. Kee, 58, of Waldoboro was arrested Dec. 24 for Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, on Route 1, Newcastle, by Deputy First Class Brian Collamore.

Adam M. Peaslee, 27, of Dresden was arrested Dec. 25 for Operating under the Influence (1 prior) and Failing to Stop for Officer, on James Eddy Road, Dresden, by Deputy Caleb Poirier.

Brittny E. Freeman, 27, of Topsham was arrested Dec. 27 on a Cumberland County warrant for Failure to Appear, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Reserve Deputy Michael Elwell.

Michael R. Emond, 33, of Jefferson was arrested Dec. 27 for Domestic Violence Assault, on Munsey Road, Jefferson, by Deputy First Class Brian Collamore.

Accidents

On Dec. 18, an accident occurred on East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving Cheyenne L. Cash, 18, of Bristol. Ms. Cash was operating her 2014 Ford Escape westbound and due to ice that melted then refroze on the road surface, she lost control of her vehicle, went down an embankment and rolled over, before coming to final rest upright. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On Dec. 20, an accident occurred on Lakeview Drive in Bristol involving Cameron Jonah, 21, of Nobleboro and Haley J. Bezon, 36, of Bristol. Mr. Jonah was operating his 2008 Toyota Matrix southbound and traveling too fast for the icy road conditions when he hit the driver’s side of Ms. Bezon’s 2015 Toyota Sienna. Bezon was operating her vehicle northbound and was driving too fast for the icy road conditions when her vehicle was struck. Deputy Chase Bosse was the investigating officer.

On Dec. 21, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Zeth A. Williams-Benner, 26, of Pemaquid. Mr. Williams-Benner was operating his 2000 Subaru Impreza northbound when he stated an unknown vehicle was traveling southbound in the center of the roadway. As a result, Mr. Williams-Benner’s vehicle left the right side of the northbound lane and struck a mailbox. He then overcorrected and fishtailed, where his vehicle left the right side of the roadway again and struck another mailbox and then overturned. Deputy David Bellows was the investigating officer.

On Dec. 21, an accident occurred on Gibbs Road in Wiscasset involving Warren J. Cossette, 51, of Wiscasset. Mr. Cossette was operating his 2006 Toyota Tundra eastbound when his vehicle started to slide. As a result, he crossed the centerline and went off the roadway on the left, where he then went down into the ditch and hit a tree. Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.

On Dec. 21, an accident occurred on Alna Road in Alna involving John R. Baird, 53, of Alna. Mr. Baird was operating his 1999 Dodge 1500 northbound when he hit a patch of black ice and began to slide into a ditch, where he ended up rolling over onto the driver’s side. Deputy Alonzo Connor was the investigating officer.

On Dec. 21, an accident occurred on Lower Round Pond Road in Bristol involving James G. Doughty, 39, of Wiscasset; Steven C. Masters, 57, of Bristol and Paul W. Smith, 63, of Newcastle. Mr. Doughty was operating his 2008 Dodge 1500 eastbound when he was unable to make the turn at the bottom of the hill and left the right side of the roadway, where the front of his vehicle impacted a tree. Mr. Smith was operating his 2015 Hyundai Elantra westbound and stopped on the left shoulder. Doughty left his vehicle and walked towards Smith’s vehicle, along the left shoulder of the roadway. Mr. Masters was operating his 2016 GMC Sierra westbound and was unable to make the turn at the bottom of the hill and left the roadway on the left side. The front of Master’s vehicle struck Doughty and the front passenger corner of his vehicle struck the rear driver’s corner of Smith’s vehicle. Deputy David Bellows was the investigating officer.

On Dec. 27, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Christy A. Sykes, 42, of South Bristol and Evan S. Strusinski, 46, of Camden. Ms. Sykes was operating her 2017 Jeep Compass northbound when she struck a deer. Mr. Strusinski was also operating his 2015 Toyota Tacoma northbound and was unable to avoid striking the deer, which was hit by Sykes. Reserve Deputy Michael Elwell was the investigating officer.

On Dec. 27, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Adrienne L. Warren, 59, of Boothbay. Ms. Warren was operating her 2008 Ford Explorer southbound when a deer ran into the roadway and was struck. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
